JL Audio 6.5-inch (165 mm) Component Woofer with Grille + JL Audio 1-inch (25 mm) Corundum Ceramic-Coated, Aluminum Dome Component Tweeter + JL Audio VX1000/5i 5-Channel Class D Amplifier + JL Audio 12W6v3-D4 12" 4 Ohm Subwoofer Bundle
Woofer Highlights
C7 is the pinnacle of JL Audio automotive loudspeaker design, benefiting from our most advanced development tools and a complete commitment to precision manufacturing.
The C7-650cw component woofer is capable of operating in a 3-way system, with a midrange and tweeter, or with only a tweeter in a 2-way configuration. Engineered from the ground up, it has exceptional linear excursion capability and outstanding linearity, resulting in solid mid-bass and pure, precise, mid-range performance. Distortion and non-linearities have been minimized through critical optimization of dynamic motor and suspension behaviors.
Passive crossover networks are not included with C7 drivers, as they are designed for active systems. Instead, we recommend a high-quality tuning DSP, such as the JL Audio TwK™ 88 or D8, or a VXi amplifier with built-in DSP, with a dedicated amplifier channel for each C7 loudspeaker in the system. Precise setup of equalization, delay and crossover filters will ensure optimal in-vehicle performance.
C7-650cw Design Notes:
Cone and Dust Cap: Vacuum-formed, mineral-filled polypropylene material offers excellent damping and low mass. The cone body features a gentle curvilinear profile to optimize response. A specially shaped dust cap attaches to the cone body and the voice coil former to improve high frequency behavior.
Suspension design: The moving assembly is suspended and damped via a large-diameter, linear profile spider formed from a Nomex®/polycotton blend, and a positive-roll, rubber surround. The two combine to provide optimum damping without prematurely restricting the C7-650cw's outstanding excursion capability.
Motor Design: The C7-650cw employs a high-density magnetic circuit with a high-grade Y35 Strontium-ferrite magnet, and a specially machined, T-Yoke motor topology. Motor magnetics have been precisely optimized utilizing advanced FEA tools to reduce distortion and provide linear motor force throughout the driver's performance range.
A 32 mm (1.27 inch) diameter, overhung voice coil is employed, wound with copper wire onto a fiberglass voice coil former. The oversized voice coil offers extended power handling capability, minimizing thermal compression and distortion at higher listening levels. Chassis Design: A purpose-engineered cast alloy basket is employed, featuring thin spokes to maximize rear open area, and our Patented Elevated Frame Cooling technology.
Design Bandwidth:

Tweeter Highlights
C7 is the pinnacle of JL Audio automotive loudspeaker design, benefiting from our most advanced development tools and a complete commitment to precision manufacturing.
The C7-100ct component tweeter is designed to deliver unparalleled high-frequency performance. Utilizing a corundum ceramic-coated aluminum alloy diaphragm suspended via a treated silk, s-roll surround, it provides spectacularly detailed reproduction of treble frequencies with outstanding off-axis response.
C7-100ct Design Notes:
Dome Diaphragm: Corundum ceramic coated aluminum alloy diaphragm exhibits high stiffness, very low mass and excellent environmental stability. It also helps the tweeter dome to hold its shape and operate as a true piston at higher frequencies, without a penalty in moving mass.
Suspension Design: The diaphragm's motion is centered, sprung and damped by a treated silk, s-roll surround. Ferrofluid in the magnetic gap acts as a rear suspension element in this design. The two combine to provide optimum damping without unduly restricting excursion.
Motor Design: The C7-100ct employs a high-density magnetic circuit with a neodymium magnet and U-Yoke motor topology. An under-hung voice coil is employed, wound with copper-clad aluminum wire onto an aluminum voice coil former. Motor magnetics have been precisely optimized utilizing advanced FEA tools to lower even order distortion and IMD/AMD.
Acoustical Design: The shape of the tweeter housing is designed to boost sensitivity in a very specific bandwidth, helping to flatten the frequency response. It also provides improved control of directivity.
Design Bandwidth:
With 48 dB/octave filters: 3,000 Hz - 30,000 Hz
With 24 dB/octave filters: 4,000 Hz - 30,000 Hz
With 12 dB/octave filters: 5,000 Hz - 30,000 Hz
Sold individually, with flush and surface mounting fixtures and hardware. One 15μF tweeter protection capacitor is also included.

Amp Highlights
Designed to simplify great audio, every VXi amplifier combines our advanced NexD2™ switching amplifier technology with an integrated, full-featured digital signal processor.
Employing our second generation NexD2™ amplifier technology, the VX1000/5i efficiently powers a complete audio system. It can drive four main speakers with 75 W x 4 @ 4 ohms while also powering a subwoofer with up to 600W @ 2 ohms. Bridging the main channels converts it into a very powerful, 3-channel system amplifier with up to 200W x 2 @ 4 ohms on the main channels and 600W @ 2 ohms on the subwoofer channel.
The NexD2™ full-range technology in the main channels of this amplifier is DSP-controlled and features a reduced loop area design utilizing DirectFET™ outputs for outstanding fidelity, very low noise and exceptional efficiency. The subwoofer channel features an optimized low-frequency variant of the NexD2™ technology. The amplifier chassis is ultra-compact, with all connections on one side, to greatly simplify installation into tight spaces.
Instead of traditional control knobs and switches, all amplifier adjustments and DSP functionality are configured via a compatible external device (PC, Tablet or Smartphone), with the appropriate JL Audio TüN™ Software application installed.
Amplifier includes: Power Connector (for 2 AWG wire), Analog Input/Pre-Out Harness, Speaker Output Harness, Subwoofer Output Connector, 6 ft A/B USB Cable

Subwoofer Highlights
If you are seeking intensely powerful sub-bass that compromises nothing in terms of sound quality, the 12W6v3 is your ultimate ally. This highly advanced Subwoofer offers several technologies shared with the flagship W7AE subwoofers to provide powerful advantages in motor linearity and suspension behavior. These combine with a very efficient cooling circuit to deliver reduced distortion and outstanding dynamic balance.
The 12W6v3 is best used with amplifier power in the 200W - 600W range and is optimized to operate in a sealed enclosure with only 1.0 cu. ft. (28.3 l) of air space, or a 1.3 cu. ft (36.8 l) ported enclosure. Detailed enclosure recommendations can be found in the "Specifications" tab.
Greater excursion capability and higher power handling distinguish it from our 12W3v3 12-inch Subwoofer, allowing for higher output. Dual 4 Ω voice coils permit deploying the W6v3 as a 2 Ω or 8 Ω driver.
